NICE INSTITUTIONAL INTEGRITY COMMITTEE ORIENTED

The Anti Corruption Bureau recently oriented the National Initiative for Civic Education Institutional Integrity  Committee IIC members  in Salima. As the committee received new members, the members needed building on the role and mandate of the IIC  and many other topics that aim at fighting corruption in institution and also  in Malawi.

Speaking during the opening of the orientation workshop, Phillip Chilemba the Trust’s Finance Manager said, corruption should not be left to one person instead, it should begin with each member of the institution adding that complying with laid down procedures should not be left to an individual, but institutions should come up with systems and procedures that demonstrate integrity.

“Management is optimistic that the NICE IIC will be equipped with basic investigation skills as well as corruption risk assessment skills. Above all, through this orientation workshop, ACB will be able to assess the work of NICE.”Chilemba  said. He went on to appeal to the IIC members not miss the opportunity but show total commitment.
