Voting has started on time in both Mwansa and Chilaweni wards where the Malawi Electoral  Commission is conduction a bye election. Reports show that in both wards voting started on time. NICE yesterday was part of the team that inspected materials in both constituencies.

Commenting on  the turn up so far NIE Executive Director Gray Kalindekafe said the good numbers of people coming to  cast votes in large numbers. “ we are happy with the good turn out  because it contributes to the growth of democracy in the country,” said Kalindekafe.

Past by elections have been associated with low participation with others blaming it on voter fatigue.
