NICE partners Nyika Media Club for increased promotion of good governance

NICE has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Nyika  Media Club as the Trust continues with work on promotion of good governance and democracy. Speaking during the signing ceremony  that took place at Chatonda Lodge in Mzuzu  City, NICE’s Civic Education and  Programmes Officer Derex Souza said,  partnering with Nyika Media Club is key for the Trust as it  will  contribute to  strengthening of democracy and good governance.

‘We are  getting into this partnership knowing that we will work together in making sure that Malawi’s democracy is strengthened and that there is increased participation among all citizens in Malawi.” Souza said.

On his part Feston   Malekezo Chairperson of the Nyika Media Club expressed gratitude to NICE for considering renewing the MOU and partnering with the club.

“Our Club’s focus is on good governance reporting and as such we wish to assure you that we will work hand in hand with the  Trust’s district offices where we can dig out some of governance issues happening in these areas .” Malekezo said while expressing optimism that the partnership will bear fruits for all   Malawians.

Through this MOU  NICE and  Nyika  media Club members will collaborate in a number of activities in making sure that Malawians are well informed and are able to understand  and participate in public life.
