NICE SUPPORTS DEMOCRACY AND GOOD GOVERNANCE REPORTING

The National Initiative for Civic Education in May joined the world in commemorating the 2025 World Press Freedom Day with a pledge to continue raising awareness on democracy and good governance in Malawi. The  Trust’s  Executive Director Gray Kalindekafe said this when he presented awards to journalists who have done exceptionally well in democracy and good governance reporting.

NICE in partnership with the Media Institute for Southern Africa MISA Malawi awarded Nation Publication Limited investigative reporter Suzgo Chitete for emerging winner of the Democracy and Good Governance Reporter of the year print. The Trust also awarded the Josophine Chinere of PIJ for being the Best  Democracy and Good Governance Reporter of the year electronics.

World Press Freedom Day is commemorated every year on 3rd May.  This year’s celebrations took place in Mzuzu.
